Description
Our 5" White Oak 3‘ to 10’ Character Grade is one of the most popular grades of solid hardwood flooring that we offer. Character Grade is great for those wanting to show all that White Oak has to offer such as some knots and color variation. This floor can generally be described by having a mix of about 80% #1 Common and 20% #2 Common. Another great feature of this floor is its long lengths up to 10'. This 3/4" thick unfinished solid wood flooring is manufactured by NWFA standards or better and has a tongue and groove on all four sides for easy installation.
Rift & Quartered will have a unique appearance and because of the grain being in a vertical pattern it will increase the overall hardness and structural integrity of the boards. Rift Sawn pieces will have a tighter/straight grain appearance while Quarter Sawn will also have the straight grain it displays the “flecking” across the grain that it is known for. With these characteristics, Rift & Quartered is generally preferred when installed over radiant heat or in extreme climates.
